Supervising Deputy District Attorney
Current- Supervises the daily operations of the District Attorney's South County Branch Office- Assigns all cases and oversees the administration of all criminal matters - Supervises and directs the preparation and presentation of cases - Maintains and directs court calendars - Provides budgetary input- Trains and evaluates work performance of felony attorneys- Determines questions of law and counsels attorneys on strategy- Reviews and evaluates the disposition of difficult and politically sensitive cases- Liaisons with office administration, police agencies, courts, and other County offices- Conducts caseload analysis through the study of calendar patterns and office efficiency- Devises and implements techniques to improve office operational effectiveness- Appears in court and conducts the prosecution of cases - Prepares preliminary hearing and trial strategy - Orders investigations and subpoenas
