About Jonathan Neil
I create screenplays which explore themes such as political discourse, crises of faith, otherness and the hidden worlds around us, and I aim to shine a light on under-explored relationship dynamics and overlooked social issues.My goal is to create original work which can cut through the noise and connect with a modern audience who are bombarded with content like never before, and I seek out producers who are both passionate and optimistic about the power of original storytelling and committed to its survival in the face of risk adverse investors and soulless AI technology. (I don’t dig it). So far my work has covered various subjects, ranging from Cold War espionage in the sixties to the ‘video nasties’ moral panic of the eighties, and from near-death experiences to queer vengeance and mind-control. I like stories which find lightness in the tragedy, and which aim to be artistic but straight-forward.Aside from developing my own projects, I am passionate about script editing and helping to shape the work of others and I also produce script and book reports on a freelance basis.
