Supporting 737 Max and P-8A Poseidon production.

-Senior Capstone-Working on a team of 8 students to build a flight vehicle (ALTAIR) to compete in the 45k FAR-MARS bi-prop challenge in Mojave, CA.Responsible engineer for re-designing the current liquid bi-propellant rocket engine on campus. Janus is a LOX/Jet-A engine designed to produce 1000 lbf of thrust. The revised injector design improves manufacturing methods, build timelines, reuse and performance. It will refine maintenance for test operations, reducing risk during tear down and build up. Improving the modularity of critical injector components is important to allow further design iterations. The new chamber and injector will improve combustion efficiency while reducing mass by ~13%.Although we have a goal of launching ALTAIR, it’s important to us to build upon our existing rocket development and testing capabilities on campus. To preserve this, we support training underclassmen in test site operations to guarantee continued testing and propulsion development activities.

Ground crew member for engine testing. Trained to handle and transfer cryogenic propellants. Gained flight operation proficiency for Masten's Xodiac vehicle. Assisted in PermiAM testing, analysis and report writing. PermiAM is an additively manufactured solution to transpiration cooling, an alternative to traditional RigiMesh. Supported the upgrade and fabrication of the pressurant feed system for a lox/methane engine (M10A Broadsword) test stand, capable of producing 25,000lbs of thrust. Supported future NASA Flight Opportunity programs in entry, decent and landing technologies.Assisted with Masten's XL-1 lunar lander and supporting technologies. In partnership with NASA CATALYST and CLPS programs.
