CurrentAs a landscape designer, I really love that I can create the perfect garden for my clients. I use Vectorworks Landmark to create all my designs. This is the industry-standard landscape design software. With it, I create a 3D model of your site which I use to visualise the design from all angles. The quality of the finished garden is everything to me, and I endeavour to make each step of the design process as perfect as possible. The steps are: 1. An initial meeting, where we discuss your ideas for your garden, your thoughts on planting styles, and what features you wish to include. This becomes the design brief. 2. Conduct a Site Analysis, which is a thorough appraisal of the garden and its surroundings. 3. Organise a site survey by a qualified surveyor. 4. Create a sketch plan. I will then meet with you to discuss this design and amend it as necessary. 5. Draw the Master Plan. This is the completed design and is used to create the following drawings used by the contractor in the build phase: * Setting out drawings, enabling the contractor to accurately build your garden. * Levels and drainage drawings. * Construction drawings - to ensure the correct build of larger components, i.e. pergolas and retaining walls. 6. Create planting plans using Vectorworks. These show the plant schemes in both a plan and 3D views. 7. Compile Tendering documents. I send the Masterplan and associated drawings to at least 3 landscape contractors. You then choose the best contractor from the completed tenders. 8. The build phase. The landscape contractor builds your garden. I will be on hand to advise on issues and monitor the process. 9. Planting phase. With the landscaping complete, the planting begins and I will personally set out the plants. 10. Completion – your finished garden should provide you a lifetime of enjoyment.
