Hello, I am Jonathan Nwokeji, an Honors junior student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying computer science. Because of my fondness for both the logical and algorithmic side as well as the creative side of programming, I am interested in software development and full-stack development.At UNC, I am the Vice President of Black in Technology, a club that brings together African American students majoring in STEM majors. Specifically, I am in charge of programming and directing Afropix, the flagship event that hosts mentorship and workshop cycles, invites alumni speakers and panelists, and promotes corporate sponsors such as Fidelity, CapTech, and Vanguard for underrepresented students in UNC and universities in North Carolina.I am also the Vice President and co-founder of the Web Development Society, a recently established club meant to introduce the basics of web development to non-CS and CS majors. Specifically, I instruct HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and provide weekly challenges in HackerRank or in VSCode.Besides these interests, I am also an avid enjoyer of sports. I am a goalie for the club handball team, and I watch soccer and basketball in my spare time.My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact in the local and global communities that I am a part of. I am driven not only by my own standards of hard work and high commitment but also by my dream to make a difference in this world and give back to my community.
