With more than 18 years of proven expertise gained in the Irish Defence Forces on multiple tours of duty. I am a qualified Advanced Paramedic (AP) who understands the importance of maintaining high levels of safety during rescue operations for both the patient and the medical team through contingency planning, risk management and environmental awareness.As someone who can think on their feet, I tackle trauma situations with pragmatism. My resourceful approach has enabled me to provide immediate care to patients using the materials, tools and equipment around me. I have been involved in air ambulance evacuations, engaged with frontline services and have overcome the challenges posed by high-risk, high-pressure environments. I also work closely with Code Blue and EFAST as A.P and Basic Life Support and Cardiac Instructor. I like to keep myself fit and participate in long-distance and adventure running, cross-country mountain biking and orienteering. The outdoors is where I thrive best.Recently I participated on various offshore training programmes including B.O.S.I.E.T, C.A-E.B.S, M.I.S.T, H.U.E.T, Norwegian escape chute and I’m proficient in the use of medical equipment including AED and various ECG machines.I nurture the strengths of my team to achieve the best results while ensuring medical and clinical practices are properly enforced. My motivational leadership style and strong ability to influence care plans and treatment, has led to a cohesive approach by all teams to create a patient-centred environment.
