Reporting to the CFO, I am responsible for the overall direction and management framework for Sustainability and Carbon at Shell.

I led a global team of approximately 100 corporate finance professionals working on Acquisitions, Divestments and New Business Development across all of Shell's businesses. In 2021 I led the project to simplify Shell's share structure securing shareholder support of 99.8%.

I led a team of 20 corporate finance professionals and was responsible for execution of Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments in Shell for 3 of the largest divisions: Upstream, Integrated Gas and New Energies (Renewables). During the period Shell successfully completed its $30 bln divestment programme and made a number of acquisitions in the growing New Energies business.

Qatar Shell is one of Shell's most substantial business units, and operates the Pearl Gas to Liquids plant which is the largest GTL plant in the world. In addition Shell owns a 30% interest in the Qatargas 4 Liquefied Natural Gas project. I led the finance function for Shell in Qatar with responsiblity for finance management and control of our business in the country. During this period I worked with the leadership team and our partners Qatar Petroleum to implement an urgent and focused response to the low oil price environment leading to substantial reductions in year on year costs, better safety performance, higher reliability and improved staff engagement. I led the finance function and was responsible for finance management and control in countries where Shell has it's largest non-operated joint ventures in the Upstream business: Brunei, Kazakhstan, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Italy and Denmark. Led the finance function of Shell's upstream business in the MENA region during a period of considerable growth and change. Established finance team, systems and control frameworks for major new country entries in Iraq and Kuwait. As coordinator of Shell's regional crisis team managed evacuations of staff and contractors from a number of countries during 2011 Arab Spring. Kashagan is one of the largest oil projects in the world. In 2008 Shell Development Kashagan was assigned responsibility for executing Phase 2 of the project on behalf of the joint venture. I was the first Finance Director for the company and during my time there established the finance organisation and business and management systems for the company. As a result of group wide reorganisation in Shell in 2009 I then moved on to a new assignment in the Middle East.

I led a small team of M&A professionals in Shell's Head Office in the Hague. The team worked on a number of corporate acquisition projects. During my time in this role key executed deals included:Acquisition of Minority in Shell Canada Ltd for C$8.7 bln - I was the Finance lead on this deal.Spin-off of Shell Technology Ventures Fund
