Sales Engineering: "Riding the line between the engineering and sales team, being the bridge, having a foot in both domains."This role is about approach. Have a debugger's mindset, and put yourself in the customer's shoes, what would they think when they see how your software works? Approach every ask from the perspective of how this would help move the needle in helping a customer find the right software. Things Sales Engineers do:• Be the technical resource on customer calls that can answer deep technical questions• Lead technical presentations and demos• Lead technical discovery sessions and gain an understanding of the customer's technical landscape• Act as the technical liaison with the technical team on the customer side• Scope and execute proof of concepts and pilots• Be the copilot to the account executive leading the account, and provide guidance (don't be afraid to say no!)• Take part in both product/engineering calls and Sales GTM calls• Have a broad set of skills related to a number of technologies, and implement common sales practices and frameworks, such as MEDDPICC, along the way• Update your Salesforce! :)• Respond, or help in responding, to RFPs, RFIs etc.• Be a content creator: blogs, videos, how-to's, documentationAnd above all...
