In this role, I was the Federal Division lead for the Executive Secretariat function for DHS/CISA’s Cybersecurity Division (CSD), responsible for a team of 10+ contractors and for managing and tracking incoming/outgoing high-level correspondence for review and approval from multiple sources within and external to CISA. These included Congressional and budget requests, including cyber-related requests for developing long-range plans for IT security systems that would minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities. I coordinated requests for requirements and needs for CSD’s cyber-related programs and policies to develop and/or evaluate technical/security plans and policies for adherence with appropriate technical/architectural frameworks and standards to provide recommendations, improve protocols or implement solutions. I improved processes by studying current practices and designing modifications while applying knowledge of data, information, processes, organizational interactions, skills, and analytical expertise, as well as systems, networks, and information exchange capabilities to assist in management of acquisition programs. I developed new standard operating procedures, tactics, and techniques as situations were identified to ensure efficient flow of information and problem resolution. I led CSD’s coordination of transitioning leadership issue papers, organizational charts, and other materials with the Biden Administration’s Presidential Transition Office to provide a smooth organizational leadership transition. I also maintained CSD’s interagency agreements (i.e. MOAs) repository.
