Acting site exploration geologist for a wide range of geotechnical projects including residential and commercial properties, roads and highways, earthen dam investigations, utility projects, liquefaction analysis and specialize in fault hazard evaluation. My main job responsibilities include development and coordination of exploration plans, geologic mapping and site characterization, characterization of soil and rock, and fault hazard evaluations. Providing construction services including characterization of native and import fill materials, mitigation of poor subgrade soils, saturated soils, expansive clay soils, and undocumented fill.Experienced in USCS soil classification, soil sampling and logging, and logging of the hollow-stem auger, mud-rotary, HQ core drilling techniques, monitoring well installations, and refraction-microtremor surveys for geotechnical projects. Extensive experience with the geology of the Reno, Lake Tahoe and Puget Sound regions including unconsolidated and bedrock formations in the Truckee Meadows, volcanic terrain in the Lake Tahoe and western Nevada regions, the Eastern Sierra and Puget Sound glacial formations. 6 years experience as a field geologist for geotechnical engineering projects and three years experience conducting research on geothermal energy development. Described active faulting, produced Quaternary geologic maps, planned and executed fault trenching investigations, synthesized and analyized regional and site specific geologic articles and maps for project use. Additional geothermal research focused on kinematic analysis of structural data, fault slip tendency analysis, planned and executed a shallow temperature survey, and basic spring water geochemical analysis.
