About Jonathan Peabody
• 11 years - Automotive Engineering - Lead Product Development Engineer (Current)• 1 year - Aerospace Engineering - Product Development Engineer (Co-op)• 15 years - Hands-on labor, manufacturing, weld fabrication & assembly • BSME from University of Michigan May, 2013 GPA 3.5 • Well versed in GD&T Y14.5 My work personality was born and raised in prototype fabrication shops. I worked on teams that hand-crafted prototype conveyor systems for GM, Ford and Chrysler. I later grew into a Supervisor role in a structural steel fabrication shop, where I led a second shift team of 6-8 employees for nearly 2 years. This era of fabrication work set the stage for my return to college at U of M, where I obtained my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and graduated with honors. While at Michigan, I completed 2 Co-Op rotations at GE Aviation in Cincinnati. I learned the fundamentals of engine bearing design and contributed to the analysis of the F-136 4R bearing investigation. I later designed several HPT spanner nuts for the Athens development engine, from pencil and paper. These designs were approved by one of GE’s Chief Engineers at milestone meetings. During my employment with Aisin, I juggled continuous improvement on ten production released sunroof programs, and one development program. I learned optimization concepts of interior trim, injection molding and aluminum extrusions which were tested, and implemented per Toyota Specifications. This role founded my cradle-to-grave understanding of ownership in product development. I am currently working as a Sr Program Engineer in the automotive exhaust world, managing design release and acting as a liaison between technical support teams and the customer.
Listed skills include Machining, Product Design, Gd&T, Metal Fabrication, and 13 others.
