About Jonathan Peralta
With family roots in Dominican Republic, power outages were a common occurrence during visits to the country throughout my childhood. Then Hurricane Marìa devastated Puerto Rico, and I became conscious of how climate disasters will disproportionately impact the Global South as a result of climate change. These two factors made me want to join the energy revolution in creating a more sustainable, resilient, cleaner, independent, and affordable future in not only just power grids, but the world itself. After 4 years of professional work experience and a brief music career, I committed to and graduated from the Master of Environmental Management and MBA dual degree program between Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment and Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill. During that time, I was hired for three internships, where I gained experience in supply chain for solar development, creating strategy for a clean tech start up, and consulting on electric utility decarbonization plans. I am currently building my career at ScottMadden, where I have offered consulting services to not only utilities, but a wide range of sectors and industries.
