Kumquat Biosciences is intensely focused on novel therapeutics for cancer in the areas of oncology and immune oncology. In my role I worked with the team to focus on moving projects forward-including one project that is being developed with Takeda, evaluating new targets, and establishing a platform for novel immunology drug discovery in partnership with Eli Lilly/Loxo Oncology.

Continued to support autoimmune projects while joining department of Cancer Therapeutics, intensifying efforts to develop novel therapies for immune oncology. Began to focus on leadership by joining departmental leadership team and serving a year on Institute-wide Project Review Committee. Member of three cross-functional teams driving molecules into clinical studies (TLR7 agonist - LHC165, MHS552, TLR7/8 antagonist - MHV370), successfully worked to outlicense another molecule (IL-2 IgG graft - IOV-3001). Mentoring teams during times of change was an important aspect of this role

Expanded focus to research innate immunity in autoimmunity, as well as novel concepts such as antigen-specific tolerance

Joined GNF with a focus on innate immunity. Member of the SMIP (Small Molecule Immune Potentiator) team and worked on both LMW and Biologics for vaccines and therapeutics, as well as target discovery

At NIH, our work in the laboratory of Silvia Bolland focused on the role of RNA-sensing innate immune receptors (TLR7 and MDA5) in the development of autoimmune responses.

During graduate school, projects in the laboratory of David Fruman focused on the role of Class IA PI3K regulatory isoforms in leukemia and immune function.
