As co-owners, we were responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, including managing inventory, marketing, and sales. Through this experience, we gained valuable skills in budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and social media marketing. After a year and a half of operating Smarty Pants, we made the difficult decision to close the store and pursue other opportunities. As a result of our sound business practices and hard work, we were able to liquidate the assets for a profit exceeding 100% of our original purchase price.Through my experience as a co-owner of Smarty Pants, I learned the importance of effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. Following my spouse's passing, I made the difficult decision to leave my position at The Jefferson Awards, despite my affection for the role, in order to prioritize the needs of my daughter. Unfortunately, this role required 75%+ travel which I could not do in all fairness to my daughter.

My efforts resulted in increased membership from non-profit organizations, city and county governments, public and private schools, and professional sports teams.
