I operate my private counseling practice in downtown Morgantown, WV. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and carry certifications as a Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT) and Certified Traumatologist (CT). All of my interventions are based in an understanding of neurobiology and brain development across the lifespan. Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dissociative Disorders, and other disorders related to trauma.I worked with Dr. Lou Tinnin and Dr. Linda Gantt at their trauma clinic treating severe cases of PTSD and Dissociative Disorders. We utilized an intensive, short term therapy method to help clients make great gains in a short amount of time.

Treatment of individuals with severe mental illness, including but not limited to: schizophrenia; depression; panic disorder; substance abuse; trauma; borderline personality disorder. I worked with staff to come up with unique and effective treatments for a population that is notoriously treatment-resistant. This included doing therapy in the community and in client's homes when necessary. I worked with intake clinicians and provided differential diagnosis for staff attempting to diagnose complex psychological issues, and helped teach them how to diagnose correctly and effectively.

Treatment of court-mandated adolescents in a residential treatment program. These teens were removed from the home for severe behavior problems, truancy, or drug use. I worked to be therapeutically effective while still being a real person that they could connect with. I provided clinical supervision to front-line staff to assist them in treating behavioral issues. Much of my work was training them to see not just a misbehaving kid, but a person who was in pain and getting their needs met by any means they could. I worked with staff to create ways they could reach particularly difficult kids and help them reshape their behavior.
