Communication is a lifelong challenge. But for some, it can be a problem. A speech therapist helps identify the problem, designs the path to better communication, and then carries it out.I enjoy each part of that endeavor: the detective work (diagnosis), the design work (planning), and the execution (therapy). I love getting to know individuals with communication problems, their families, and their caregivers. Building solutions to communication problems is about understanding people, their needs, and their relationships.Every problem is unique; every patient deserves a personal solution. Almost always, the best solutions are supported by research and clinical experience. I have training and experience using evidence-based approaches such as:• Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT)• Biofeedback (e.g., electropalatography)• Computer-assisted language treatment (e.g., TalkPath Therapy)• Aphasia approaches (e.g., PACE)• Cognitive approaches (e.g., spaced retrieval)I love to keep up with new techniques and technology, and I have a strong foundation with the fundamentals of communication treatment. I welcome new opportunities to connect on LinkedIn.
