Driving benefit to Australian growers and grains industry by developing solutions to disease constraints through application of molecular genetics, big-data analytics and high-throughput disease phenotyping. A track record for delivering results to industry and academic excellence with 10 years research experience. PhD awarded in 2016 for work developing Brachypodium distachyon as a model for studying Fusarium crown rot in wheat and barley. Currently working as a post-doctoral fellow at the CSIRO with a leading role delivering on a component of a ~$5 million GRDC investment to improve crown rot resistance in wheat breeding programs. Giving back by training the next generation of researchers through key supervisory roles for several PhD, MPhil and Honours students who have successfully completed their studies. Building strong international collaborations through linkage projects and visiting scientist schemes.
