Lead Facilities Technician
Current• Provide HVAC and utility support for six Terumo sites in the US and Canada.o Schedule preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for ISO Class 8 manufacturing cleanrooms, distribution centers and office space.o Monitor sites via remote Building Automation System for proper operation. o Review and issue preventative maintenance contracts for equipment support.• Assess reliability of critical facility support systems and utilities.o Develop and schedule equipment replacement strategies with engineering firms and contractors.o Manage compressed air system replacement with minimal impact to manufacturing operations (New air compressors, heated desiccant air dryer, filtration, and connective piping)o Initiate Building Automation System replacement (Source vendors and procure quotes. Schedule replacement with minimal impact to manufacturing operations). Converted pneumatic controls to DDC.o Develop and manage HVAC retrofit and facility improvements over $1 million.• Assist manufacturing engineers with installing utilities and HVAC modifications for new and existing processes.• Schedule activities for semi-annual shutdowns at two manufacturing facilities.o Source quotes for repairs and facility upgrades. Schedule Terumo staff and contractors for preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs.o Support quality department during cleanroom certifications.• Assess equipment and facility energy efficiencies. Upgrade/replace systems to reduce energy consumptiono Installing VFD’s on heating/cooling pumps (reduced power usage by 25-40%).o New air compressors reduced energy usage by 30%.o Balance heating/cooling water flows for optimal efficiencies. o Utilized chiller heat recovery allowed hot water boilers to be shut off during summer months.o Submit for energy rebates with Delmarva Power and the state of Maryland. Received over $300,000 in rebates.• Assist IT department with cyber security improvements for BAS and facility equipment.
