I am working in fundamental research and my speciality is gene regulation studies in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. I am particularly interested in the genetic basis of behaviour in the nematode and how it goes from molecular mechanisms affecting gene regulation in specialised neurons to behavioural response affecting the entire organism. My domain of expertise is molecular biology, from design to creation of transgenes and generation of transgenic strains by micro-injection. Those transgenes cover fluorescent reporter, to study gene expression and regulation by fluorescence microscopy and to screen for genetic interactions, and more recently genome editing tools by CRISPR-Cas.I use basic culture and molecular biology technics as well as advanced methods like Chew-Back Cloning by Gibson Assembly, Flux cytometer adapted to large object like worms (COPAS) and CRISPR-Cas.I am currently looking for a post-doctoral position in a research lab which study gene regulation and interaction in sensing response and/or learned behaviour in C.elegans and am interested to learn behavioural analysis assays, optogenetics and every technics relevant in those fields. Aside from the lab, i am a heavy reader, an amateur musician (Guitar, Bass guitar and Bluesharp) and i practise Shotokan Karate (Green Belt - 6th Kyu).

Strategies For Spatio-Temporal Analysis Of Alternative Splicing In Caenorhabditis Elegans (Phd)Université De Bordeaux Oct 2012 - Dec 2015Inserm U869 ; Iecb (Pessac, France)PhD in the Genome Regulation and Evolution group (INSERM U869 RNA : Natural and Artificial Regulation) under the supervision of Denis Dupuy, PhD.Abstract : We have developped a dual-fluorescent reporter-based system in order to follow alternative splicing event regulation in vivo. It has been applied to five different genes in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. Among the genes followed, two follow a potentially stochastic scheme, one show no visible sign of alternative splicing. The last display tissue specific splicing patterns but developed a toxic effect in the animal when expressed from a multicopy extrachromosomal array. To remediate this problem, we decided to develop a method that allows for simpler single copy insertion of fluorescent reporter using CRISPR-Cas technology.Funded by the Ministère de la Recherche et de l'Enseignement Supérieur Français.Conferences et seminars :19th C.elegans International Meeting (Poster) - UCLA (California, USA)Chemistry Meets Biology (Oral presentation) - IECB internal meeting (Pessac, France)Young Scientist Symposium IECB 8th edition (Oral presentation) - IECB (Pessac, France)VerMidi 18th edition (Poster) - Institut Jacques Monod (Paris, France) -

Igem Bordeaux 2013 - The Dairy Planet (Advisor)Igem Bordeaux 2013 Jan 2013 - Oct 2013Iecb (Pessac, France)Participation in the iGEM competition (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition).Founding member of the iGEM Bordeaux team.Project : " The Dairy Planet "Abstract : Our iGEM Bordeaux team 2013 has worked on the development of new lactic ferments able to produce flavours on their own and resveratrol also, a molecule which is considered to be responsible of good effects of red wine. This project will allow on the long run an easier production of flavoured yogurts with beneficial effects on the organisms and medical properties without using chemical substances. On top of that yogurt can be produced in an industrial way or on a small scale , the project can be used on one of those two scales.

Igem Bordeaux 2012 - The Bacterial Eyespot (Student)Igem Bordeaux 2012 Jan 2012 - Oct 2012Iecb (Pessac, France)Participation in the iGEM competition (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition).Founding member of the iGEM Bordeaux team.Project : " The bacterial eyespot "Abstract : Our project aimed at reproducing multicellular-like behavior in the bacteria Escherichia coli. The idea came from the patterns visible on some animals, like the “pseudo-eyes” on a butterfly wing. As well, we thought about the formation of stripes on tigers or zebra. Such patterns are created thanks to a very precise genetic regulation. So what we want to do here is modeling a regulation mechanism existing in eukaryotes in a simple organism. The bacteria will share the same DNA but should be able to display a different phenotype depending on the signal received by its neighbors. The phenotype here will be the expression of three different colors. The bacteria should be able to communicate between them. A light signal is used as the first inducer of our mechanism. Then, the first cells activated by the input signal send a signal to its neighbor that will react to it by changing its color, and sending another message to the next cell. This will allow us to draw different patterns on the petri dish.Conferences et seminars :iGEM 2012 European Regional Final (Poster) - VU (Amsterdam, Netherlands)iGEM 2012 European Regional Final (Oral presentation) - VU (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
