Worked in a demanding role which involved the regulation of NHS and independent healthcare providers. Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulation and best practice. This involved overseeing all notifications received in relation to the healthcare provider and following-up any significant issues, which included complaints, notifications relating to patient harm or death and risks. Exemplary written skills were utilised in drafting detailed and well evidenced reports following inspections. Evidence was analysed and presented in a way that various audiences could understand the information.Presentations skills were demonstrated when presenting findings and judgements to colleagues of all levels following inspection. Carrying out enforcement proceedings against healthcare providers was a significant part of my role. If, during an inspection or as part of my everyday involvement, a healthcare provider significantly breaches a regulation in relation to their practice, the commencement of enforcement proceedings will be initiated against them. Possessing effective managerial skills was vital to the role. During inspections, I was responsible for the management and supervision of the inspection team, which included colleagues and specialist advisors, who can be consultants, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. I also mentored colleagues in more junior roles, which involved ensuring they are meeting their development goals and identifying skill gaps. I was also a point of contact for questions or queries regarding their development.

I had a caseload of highly complex clinical negligence claims. Each of the claims I investigated involved different areas of medicine. I also worked closely with senior colleagues on multi-million pound birth injury claims.This role required excellent attention to detail, outstanding communication and analytical skills. I was a member of a business development group that worked closely with a charity to help generate leads and client awareness.
