I retired from my role as a partner in the Dispute Resolution department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in December 2021, having been a partner since May 2001. For much of that time, I was a partner based in the London office of the Freshfields' Dispute Resolution department, and a senior member of the firm's Global Investigations practice. Between September 2011 and January 2017, I was a partner based in the Freshfields' Dubai office where I was joint head of the Disputes team and led the MENA Global Investigations practice. I have significant experience of advising clients in multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation and arbitration across a broad range of sectors, and often with a Middle East focus. I have also led a number of internal and regulatory investigations for clients in the financial services, telecoms, pharmaceutical and energy sectors, arising from allegations such as bribery and corruption, mis-selling of financial products, false accounting and unfair treatment of individuals.Since entering the world of retirement, I have taken the opportunity to spend more time with my family, have become involved in some voluntary work and have taken up some occasional mentoring opportunities.
