I am an experienced global executive and investor with over 20 years direct operating experience in financial data, news and analysis companies. I have had the unique journey of playing a central role in helping build a venture backed start up from 30 people in 2002, all the way through to a unicorn status, mid-size global corporation by 2019. From 2014 – 2019 this included embarking on a Private Equity backed MBO, followed by a stake sale to a sovereign wealth fund in 2017 and full exit to a large global software firm in 2019. By exit in 2019 the company had more than 1500 people based in 25 offices across the globe, whose products were subscribed to by over 2,000 of the world’s largest Investment banks, Asset managers, Private Equity firms, Hedge funds, Law Firms, Consultants and Corporations.As Global Managing Director of the company’s largest division, I was responsible for commercial activities, strategic direction, product development, global product launches, content production, M&A, M&A integration and marketing. Additionally, I served on the group’s Executive Committee, responsible for overseeing more than 20 global products, across five divisions. Since 2020, while I serve a shareholder non-compete, I have focused on building a portfolio of investments in data focused private companies, real estate ventures and sustainability projects. I hold an advisory role in a number of the companies I invest in and have led successful fundraising rounds using my extensive global network. I am looking for investor/advisory roles in the data, news and analysis space, that do not compete with my previous role.
