I work as an Economist in the Irish Economic Analysis (IEA) Division at the Central Bank of Ireland. As a member of the Macro Modelling Unit, my main responsibility is to conduct research and analysis on topics relating to the Irish economy.During my employment in IEA I have produced a number of research papers and technical notes on a range of topics, such as: - Uncertainty and risk - The impact of non-tariff barriers on goods trade- Exchange rates and pass through to price inflation- Global-VAR analysis of foreign shocks- Forecasting consumption using Bayesian methods- Services trade I have presented my research at a number of conferences and it has received media coverage from the Financial Times, Bloomberg, the Times (UK), VoxEU, the Irish Times and the Irish Independent. I am also a member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Working Group on Econometric Modelling (WGEM), who produce research to inform the ECB Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). Show less

I conducted numerous ‘Internal Model Investigations’ covering both corporate and retail IRB Models across various institutions. These investigations entailed complete assessment of PD, LGD and EAD models in accordance with Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) regulations.

As a bank officer I helped oversee the general supervision of one of the Irish pillar banks.

I worked as a research assistant to Prof. Philip Lane. Research centered around topics in financial economics: capital flows and imbalances in the euro zone; the funding of Irish banks and; global financial integration.
