  Medibord designs and manufactures patient positioning boards for use in MRI scanners and radiotherapy treatments. The Nottingham-based company was founded in November 2009 as a spinoff from a larger thermoplastics company. In March 2009, Nottingham City Hospital approached the parent company to develop a patient positioning board that is safe to use in MRI scanners. The hospital gave the company detailed specifications of the product it needed and sponsored the clinical trials necessary to bring the board to market. The trials were a success and Medibord was born in November of that year.
