Key involvement in coordinating the internal events calendar, with the largest annual event seeing 1200 delegates in attendance. Frequent tasks included sourcing and booking venues, working with external suppliers and managing delegate registration. I used a bespoke database and Microsoft programmes for delegate management. I left this role to relocate to Bristol and to work more closely with the public sector.

I was supporting finance managers to resolve payment issues at a critical point between the company’s migration from one finance system to another. This involved telephone support calls, report generation and frequent problem solving. I left this role after being promoted to the Events Executive role.

I first became involved in UKC Live Music Society through my position as Social Secretary from September 2013. In my final year (2013/2014) I was elected to the role of President which led to close work with music venue managers, Kent Union and musicians in Canterbury. This role offered the foundations for my project and event planning career after graduating. For a period of 4 months, I became involved in the Oxjam Music Festival established in Canterbury. The committee, alongside the partners we worked with, hosted 5 preliminary live music nights in addition to the final all-day festival involving 6 venues. I gained valuable experience in working for a charitable organisation alongside learning the basic procedures surrounding the structure of non-profit based events. Key tasks included being a liaison between acts and venues, distribution of equipment between venues and putting together the line ups. I no longer involve myself in Oxjam Canterbury Takeover as the position was only available for 4 months.

During my placement at The Royal International Air Tattoo, I was delegated the responsibility of communicating between hotels, crew members and other employees of RIAT. I held a number of administrative duties involving the usage and creation of spreadsheets and databases for flight crew information. I was also involved in the ‘checking in’ process for the crews in the days leading up to the event.
