I am a structural engineer with over 23 years of experience of designing in all materials but with a particular focus on timber and other low embodied carbon materials and Buro Happold Structural Sustainability Group working to reduce and eliminate the impact of the buildings we design.My specialisms include: - Timber structures in particular complex timber roof structures (Gridshells, Lamella etc) and Hybrid timber buildings- Low embodied carbon design- Industrialised Construction and the implementation of DFMA/MMC strategiesI am also an advisory member to TRADA (UK Timber Research body), a member of the organising committee for the Institution of Structural Engineers Timber Conference 2022, an author and contributor to a number of articles, papers and books on timber and low carbon design and a visiting lecturer in timber at both Bath and Bristol Universities.I am also a keen Ceramicist - see some of my work at www.roynon.co.uk
