I organize and dispatch transports, both in wheelchair vans and ambulances, in addition to handling emergency dispatch responsibilities, using a computer aided dispatch(CAD) program. I answer 9-1-1 calls, determine the nature of the emergency, and dispatch Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and fire companies accordingly. All police emergencies are transferred to the appropriate police agency. I must know and use radio and dispatch protocols in order to concisely and effectively communicate the nature of emergencies to responders.
