Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) is a client of FDM Jonathan was contracted out to by FDM. While Jonathan was at YBS, he was apart of the testing team for the SMBP project. This project involved combining the database of three other associated building societies into one big database under the YBS brand. While working on the SMBP project, Jonathan learned to deal with pressure and gained great experience as this project often meant meeting tight deadlines and working weekends. This project also helped Jonathan develop his communication and team work skills as SMBP had a big team for all areas of business. This meant he was constantly communicating and working with people from different areas of business.Jonathan’s responsibility for this project varied from stage to stage of the project. For example during the Barnsley Migration stage Jonathan carried out tests but also monitored the daily batch executions. During the next stage of the Chelsea migration, Jonathan was given the responsibility to create a test schedule for his Colleagues to follow in order to keep track of the progression of testing.Once the SMBP project had been complete, Jonathan was asked to work on various smaller projects which included testing the functionality of the YBS website, Mortgage applications and automated letters sent to customers.Other important skills Jonathan Developed while working on this project were defect logging/retesting, script writing, peer reviewing of scripts and SQL skills Show less
