RAICES Action Fund is an independent, not-for-profit 501c4 organization representing the advocacy and political arm of our movement. Our direct service work underscores that we as a nation must change our broken immigration system and inhumane deportation machine that destroys families seeking a better life.

Established and spearheaded all operations of the non-profit organization, overseeing a high-performing team that grew from four people to over three hundred strong in promoting justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. Influential in driving the 501c3 to become the largest legal services provider in Texas, generating $150M in philanthropic and earned revenues to the organization. Successfully represented clients in deportation, family separation, detention, and asylum cases by deploying extensive legal knowledge of litigation and advocacy. Instrumental in representing immigrants and their families in a wide variety of legal matters, with a focus on asylum, deportation defense, family and self-petitions for survivors of domestic violence, crime, and human trafficking. Launched the Legal Orientation Program (LOP) for immigrants held in detention by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security facing removal and deportation hearings before the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigrant Review at the South Texas Detention Center in Pearsall, TX.
