Given the presence of staunch opposition from religious institutions to similar policies in the West, we aimed to understand the mobilization of the Roman Catholic Church to such programmes in Asia. Given the presence of staunch opposition from religious institutions to similar policies in the West, we aimed to understand the mobilization of the Roman Catholic Church to such programmes in Asia. During this project, I conducted an academic literature review of the field, and canvassed a large amount of primary data from Catholic magazines such as 'The Tablet', 'The Catholic News Service', and The Examiner, as well as national sources including 'The Observer', 'The New York Times', 'The Manila Bulletin' and 'The Times of India'. In addition to archival sources I interviewed several individuals affiliated with the Church in India, and maintained a research network of over 20 research contacts, including theologians, members of the clergy and fellow researchers. The purpose of this was to understand the provision of Emergency powers in the constitution at a time when the incipient nation was still negotiating between Central and Federal Rule. The purpose of this was to understand the provision of Emergency powers in the constitution at a time when the incipient nation was still negotiating between Central and Federal Rule. We then examined the manner in which these powers have been abused during the declarations of Emergency in 1975 under Indira Gandhi, and then in 2019 under Narendra Modi. I also analysed territorial debates between the central and state governments of India, to examine the reformation and divison of federated states by studying over 100 archival maps, and drawing provisional maps of my own to chart the change of territorial borders over time. I co-lead a team of 15 writers and editors that create weekly satirical content based on community issues both within Yale-NUS as well as Singapore more broadly. Since moving into an editorial position, I oversaw an increase in average weekly leadership from ~300 to over 1000 and doubled our following on social media from 500 to 1000. In this role I also worked on two viral videos that gained over 20,000 engagements, 35,000 views and reached over 60,000 people on Facebook.

Schools of Equality is a non-profit organization in Chennai India, that partners with 6 local schools to work with school children in order to get them to question inequality-based discrimination. I worked as a paralegal with Mr Sasidharan, the Managing Partner of the firm, and researched past cases to find legal precedents as well as work through documents related to cases that were being worked on. I shadowed lawyers to meetings with clients, police and court officials, as well as to hearings at Madras High Court. I also drafted and edited letters to concerned parties involved in cases.
