Practice focuses on defending pharmaceutical companies and product manufacturers (e.g., Pfizer), insurance companies (e.g., State Farm), and other companies and entities (e.g., Boy Scouts of America, BlackRock Kelso Capital Corporation) in connection with complex tort actions.Research: Conduct research on a broad range of substantive and procedural issues, including duty of care, duty to warn, learned intermediary, piercing the corporate veil, personal jurisdiction, False Claims Act, tolling of statute of limitations, punitive damages, and hearsay. Draft memoranda and other documents regarding same.Drafting & Motion Practice: Draft a broad range of motions, including motions to dismiss, motions in limine, motions for summary judgment, motions to re-open, jury instructions, and various other motions. Discovery Practice: Manage discovery process, including second-reviewing documents, managing reinsurance claim sheet charts, and drafting deficiency letters, discovery requests, and related motions. Pro Bono Practice: Awarded competitive six-month externship with Legal Aid of New York based on pro bono successes. Represented clients in Housing Court and before administrative law judges on a variety of issues. Successfully represented clients in matters before administrative law judges, including victories on behalf of clients seeking unemployment insurance benefits.
