Experienced, dynamic legal professional with a history of meeting agency needs utilizing consistent and organized practices. Skilled in working under pressure and adapting to new situations and challenges to best enhance organizational outcomes. I am currently in a client advice and civil litigation role with the civil division of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. After spending a little over nine years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Kitsap County I went to work for the Criminal Justice Division of the Washington State Attorney General's Office in downtown Seattle. After two years of civil practice with the Attorney General's Office litigating sexually violent predator civil commitment cases, my supervisor was elected prosecuting attorney in Pierce County and I joined her team in Tacoma. After spending two years assigned to the violent crimes trial team, I transferred into my current role as a legal advisor and civil litigator. My practice is divided between providing legal advice to county agencies and civil litigation. The client advice portion of my practice is primarily focused on advising agencies, including the Pierce County Council and the Pierce County Executive, on contracting and procurement issues. The litigation portion of my practice is focused on defending the county in lawsuits for alleged violations of public disclosure laws and tort litigation. As a member of the Government Operations and Litigation Team, I collaborate with my colleagues to ensure that we are providing consistent and thorough advice across multiple county agencies and departments. I also provide advice as needed to county officials and agencies on the Public Records Act and other general civil matters. I am licensed to practice in both Michigan (2006) and Washington (2007).
