The Emergency Department was my entry into the profession of nursing where I gained leadership experience as a charge nurse, triage nurse, trauma nurse and staff leader. My nursing journey then moved me into the world of education as the clinical educator for the Emergency Department as well other areas within the hospital including the Trauma-Neuro Unit, ICU and various Medical-Surgical Telemetry units. I learned to transfer the leadership and bedside skills I had gained to nursing staff in the clinical arena and the classroom setting. I served as the primary educator for many JCAHO disease specific and Trauma Center credentialing and re-certifications. I trained/educated Inpatient Physicians and APP’s and Nursing staff in the use of the Electronic Medical Record relative to their practice from 2011-2018. In 2014 I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner and enrolled in Drexel Universities Family Nurse Practitioner Program and graduated from this program in September 2018. In the FNP program at Drexel I completed 5 clinical rotations at various sites (Elizabethtown Family Practice, Southeast Family Health Services, Cornerstone Family Practice of Lititz, Lancaster General Family Medicine of New Holland, and the Lancaster General Hospital Emergency Department). Since graduating I worked for Lancaster Emergency Associates in the Emergency Department at Lancaster General Hospital/Penn Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner until June/2020. I am currently volunteering at the Lebanon VIM clinic.
