My duties involved handling, scanning and sorting packages as they came into my area, as well as redirecting packages that were off the belt back on the path to their destinations.Starting this position in the winter and working through the holiday season meant not just working faster but working together. Knowing where you fit in the chain, what your personal role is and how to get it done, as well as when you need to lean on your team and how to best communicate that. Being able to mesh with different parts of the team helped me learn the ropes when my position on the warehouse floor needed to shift to meet the ever-changing types of deliveries we processed. Successes include: my track record of keeping busy trucks organized scanned and sorted despite constant flow; training effective employees to acclimate to the speed and workflow in an organized manner, without slowing the flow of my own work; and managing sorting the flow of packages into multiple trucks by eye, again, with very heavy flow.

My duty was to make sure the patients in my section were delivered the meals that suited their preferences and dietary needs at a consistent time and in quality condition.The focus is customer service. Hospital patients are often nervous and confused, and so modeling how my, and other departments were working for their benefit and safety through consistent service and gentle communication were just as important as the food itself.Being organized and well put together are key in making sure the patient feels they are in a secure, well-run environment, so this is what I made sure to deliver. This includes keeping my clothing crisp and staying on top of my materials during downtime so that when I am on the floor, I can do my job seamlessly without extra fussing.
