I work with scientists on writing proposals for NIH and other government grants. I also manage existing grants from cradle to grave. I have been involved in rewriting our Intellectual Property policy so it is more adaptive to today's changing patent policies. I have managed all ARRA reporting and policies related to ARRA funding, and am now managing FFATA reporting.

I managed a four person lab which focused on assessing the effects of Ghz waves on the Defense Department's new "Active Denial" system. Our work here has been published in the Journal of Thermal Biology and I was a presenter at the "Society for Comparative and Integrative Biology" conference in 2008.

We were looking at tight junction proteins in MDCK cells as a model for the activity in tight junction cells in the human kidney. I mainly helped out with quantifying the K rates of the enzymes that are integral to the tight junction using fluorospectrophlorometer, measuring specific protein levels in the cells using Western Blots, and imaging tight junctions using protein specific fluoresent dye. My work here has been presented in a number of conferences and the data I provided has been integrated into Journal articles in the Journal of Physiology.
