The Sr Software Engineer role on the Liberty Mutual Ad Hoc RMIS Team is a unique position as it is a hybrid of software developer and business analyst work responsibilities. This position requires programming skills in DB2 SQL, SAS code, Microsoft Suite and extensive BI tool knowledge. My primary goal was to program, test, and automate custom reports and data extracts. Many of these extracts included converting Liberty Mutual claim and payments data to required TPA format. I also ran a process that moved Liberty data to a system that converted our claims data into an acceptable format for TPA use. This required the ability to learn and adapt to new tools frequently. New software and legacy software existed on the same platforms. While we pushed to replace the older systems, knowledge of all processes must be complete in order to provide quality outcomes to support current operations. My role also required extensive communication skills. I would work with business analysts, account executives, and external clients (insureds, brokers, and TPAs) on a daily basis. My other responsibilities included leading the production team of four developers to ensure quality and timely reporting of thousands of automated and manual deliveries. My job included taking on other independent projects. An example of this was working with the SalesForce team to create a reporting system. The end result was a system that provided information needed from our business partners for billing and also provided a production tracking system for all of our various deliveries.
