For nearly 12 years, I have supported various communities in the Bay Area through resource and fund development. For the past two years, I have served as the Director of Development & Communications of one of San Francisco’s preeminent community development organizations, the Mission Economic Development Agency. At MEDA, I led a team of five FTE in telling our story, advancing our brand, collaborating with community and philanthropic partners, and securing the resources necessary to address displacement, foster community ownership, and build equity and power for San Francisco’s low-income communities of color. I also have meaningful experience working in local government. First, as Oakland's Citywide Grants Coordinator under the City’s Budget Office and Finance Departments, I was responsible for identifying and tracking potential state and federal grant opportunities for the city’s various departments, programs and services; and coordinating city grant applications with local, state, and federal political efforts. Then as Management Analyst for the City of Hayward’s Housing Division, I supported the division’s efforts to promote fair and affordable housing opportunities for all Hayward residents. Born in New York City and raised in the East Bay, I earned a double Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and American Studies from the University of CA at Santa Cruz. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two children and being an avid Bay Area sports fan. Overall, my goal is to use my creativity and good humor to spark positive social change for those in need.

San Francisco Bay Area
As MEDA's Director of Development & Communications, I led our fundraising and marketing efforts for MEDA’s impactful programs and initiatives. Our team saw tremendous growth and achievement over the past two years, which included our two most successful grant fundraising years since 2012; and expanded the team from 3 FTE in 2019 to 6 FTE in 2021. During this time we grew our individual donor program from scratch, and coordinated two of our most successful galas to date, hosting the legendary Dolores Huerta as a keynote for both events. And, our critical communications efforts consistently continued to advance our work on the local, regional and national stage.
Hayward, Ca
As Management Analyst, I supported the City of Hayward's Housing Division and its various programs, services and projects. I helped coordinate an RFP for Hayward’s affordable housing financing funding; I helped secured a contractor to review Hayward’s rental housing ordinances; and I facilitated focus groups among residents to provide their input on the housing challenges they faced in the City.
As Citywide Grants Coordinator, I identified and tracked potential state and federal appropriations, legislation and grant opportunities for the city’s various departments, programs and services; coordinated city grant applications with local, state, and federal political efforts; and managed a systems-based approach to addressing the city’s grant funding needs and priorities. In addition, my work with Oakland broadly included other responsibilities. This included a quarterly Council report on the implementation of various programs and services through the 2015 – 2017 policy and mid-cycle budgets; and a standing monthly report presented to Oakland City Council’s Finance Committee regarding the State and Federal budget, in coordination with the City's lobbyist. I was also Project Manager for the City of Oakland’s Special Assessments Districts, which includes the Landscaping and Lighting Assessment District (LLAD), a special parcel tax assessment approved by Oakland residents. As Project Manager, I was responsible for securing a contractor for Special Assessment Engineer through the City’s procurement process, working with departments to identify program costs for the LLAD, and presenting a report to Council on the updated parcel tax rolls with parcel changes and CPI adjustments for the ensuing tax year.
