I run my own niche consulting practice called Lexify (www.lexify.com.au) focused on providers of publishing, software and media solutions to the professional services industry. I work with my clients on a wide range of consulting solutions, including product conception & launch, M&A, operational efficiency and general strategy. Examples of assignments include:• (Current): Leading Booktopia Publisher Services (BPS), the distribution arm of Australia's largest online book retailer, Booktopia.• Completed several successful projects for Wolters Kluwer Asia Pacific, including:- Launch of advisory services through a strategic partnership with Information Exchange Corporation (IFX) - Launch of company registration functionality through an alliance with SmartCorp- Leading the divestment of CCH’s academic textbook business, which was acquired by Oxford University Press in January 2015- Leading the divestment of CCH’s portfolio in Japan to a Japanese publisher, Dai-ichi Hoki- General strategic and operational advice to assist in achievement of annual revenue and EBITA targets• Relaunched the content division of LEAP legal software, By Lawyers. • Launched an innovative Group Access platform for online journalism group Private Media. • Drove the successful launch of Orange Line’s digital marketing services into the legal market.• Completed a strategic partnership assignment on behalf of Information Exchange Corporation (IFX) to launch white-labeled versions of their service to publishers in the market. • Completed a strategic roadmap for Timebase for an entry into the legal academic market.

Managing this technology start-up required: • In-depth knowledge of legal sector, particularly relating to the needs of small firms. • Product design and development skills: from initial idea to delivery. • Commercial awareness, and the ability to respond in real-time to the preferences of a niche market. We started Bulletpoints when we saw an opportunity to help lawyers by creating a simple but powerful aggregation and booking service to manage their professional development.

Innovating product and service delivery were core to this role, during industry shift to digital content. I was responsible for: • Profit and loss across Australia and New Zealand, including turning a declining business back into positive growth.• Re-engineering print-based product lines into digital offerings, inclusive of process development and change management.• Launch of digital offerings via non-traditional sales channels across Australia and New Zealand.

Identifying growth opportunities and people management were both vital to success in this role. Responsibilities included: • Driving CCH brand launch for new markets in Asia, based on ability to identify opportunities for growth in the region. • Overseeing mergers and acquisitions activity across the region, with particular focus on publishing and software acquisitions in India and Malaysia.• Leading over 100 staff, and contributed to professional development through mentoring program that fostered cross-discipline collaboration. • Profit and loss businesses in Singapore, Malaysia, India and Japan.• Managing a portfolio of product lines, inclusive of: o publishing (print and online subscriptions, books and customised publishing) o events (seminars and conferences) o software (audit and practice management software).

With a focus on business growth, this responsibilities in this role included: • Profit and loss across all business in Hong Kong.• Business development activities in Hong Kong and expansion into China; including acquisitions, launch of new product lines, and development of partnerships and alliances.
