I was the founding Chief Executive of VoiceAbility and led its team of 500 members of staff, its strategy and its growth in impact for 14 years. VoiceAbility supports people to have a voice when it matters most. It enables people face disadvantage or discrimination to overcome barriers and have real control over their lives. The Single Homeless Project (SHP) works to prevent homelessness and support socially excluded people to transform their lives and tackles the underlying causes of homelessness. From providing support in to people in crisis to enabling men and women take the final steps towards independence and employment, SHP makes a difference directly to 8,000 people every year.

I was appointed by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) to be the Chair of its Guideline Committee which developed guidance on the design and delivery of services to people with learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges (published in 2018).

Leading independent advocacy organisation, which I led into a merger in 2010 with Speaking Up to form VoiceAbility.
