Adaptability became my strength as I navigated new environments and made friends. This early skill set would later prove invaluable during my military career.At 25, I decided to join the Army, shaping the next chapter of my life. Rising through the enlisted ranks, I achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6) in just five years. My military journey was not without its challenges. A deployment, coupled with a diagnosis of multiple health issues, including a cervical fracture with traumatic brain injury, tested my resilience. The emotional toll of funerals and the haunting silence of role calls left indelible marks.My transition from the military in 2019 marked the beginning of a new chapter, but the journey was far from over. I battled personal demons, turning to various therapies and grappling with the weight of lost comrades, some to suicide. Golf emerged as an unexpected therapeutic outlet during the solitude of the COVID-19 pandemic in Costa Rica, where I lived for three years. The sport became a lifeline, helping me escape the abyss of despair.Using my GI Bill, I pursued education in Costa Rica and later returned to the United States with my wife and stepdaughter. Currently, I am a full-time college student pursuing a BA in Business Management with a focus on Golf Course Management. Simultaneously, I am enrolled in the PGA PGM program while working as Director of Community Relations with Greens Guild in Broward / Palm Beach County.With over a decade of experience managing teams, projects, and assets, both in the military and private sector, I bring a proven track record to my role. As Director of Community Relations, I blend my passion for golf with leadership skills honed throughout my career. Responsibilities include golf instruction, customer service, pro shop management coaching, golf event coordination, course maintenance oversight, and equipment maintenance.My life's journey, marked by trials and triumphs, has shaped my commitment to helping fellow veterans overcome their struggles. From the military to the golf course, my story reflects the transformative power of resilience, adaptability, and the pursuit of passion.
