I am leading the structural engineering group at GEL Engineering, complementing our environmental, civil, permitting, and survey groups.

Mr. Sigman is a Civil/Structural Engineer with over 17 years of experience in design, detailing, and construction administration of new buildings and miscellaneous structures, as well as the inspection, assessment and analysis of existing facilities. He was named one of the “Top 20 Under 40” by ENR Southeast and one of “Rising Stars in Structural Engineering” by Structural Engineer magazine in 2013.Mr. Sigman has prepared design, renovation, and repair documents for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber framed buildings. His experience includes design of high rise, office, retail, residential, and specialty structures, as well as addition of floors to existing structures. Mr. Sigman also has experience with design and assessment of buildings in seismic and hurricane zones and with waterfront structures. Mr. Sigman also has extensive experience with investigation of existing structures, including failure analysis, rehabilitation, structural condition assessment, and pier and dock repair. He has prepared repair drawings for brick, terra cotta, and concrete masonry facades and has designed repairs for deteriorated steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures. Performed numerous structural investigations and assessments and prepared repair documents for deteriorated conditions. Performed Structural Engineering for design of new structures, renovation of existing structures, and investigation of existing structures. Key projects included design of new 18-story 520 North Michigan building, renovation and design of new rotunda for Hotel Intercontinental in downtown Chicago, renovation and vertical expansion of 550 West Jackson building, investigation of crane collapse during the construction of Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and numerous facade investigations and repair design in Chicago.
