I consulted over 75 prospective clients on wage and discrimination issues. I prepared clients for upcoming depositions and assisted in examining witnesses at an NYCDHR hearing and an arbitration. I wrote demand letters and complaints, and retained a client. Lastly, I assisted in discovery through preparing interrogatory responses and document requests.

I helped write an answer in opposition of an Article 78 petition. I also wrote memoranda recommending that the Director of Law and Licensing grant temporary registration to people seeking to work on the waterfront. Finally, I conducted a deposition of an applicant seeking registration.

I researched and drafted memoranda on subjects ranging from discrimination of employees to the procedures for filing whistleblower claims under state and federal law. I also provided advice for an NLRB union decertification proceeding and whether an employee could switch his benefits under the union's ERISA pension plan. Finally, I edited legal correspondence, including discovery documents, and wrote blog entries on the firm's website.

I conducted legal research on potential violations of 8(b)(1)(A) of the National Labor Relations Act in conjunction with my responsibility to interview employees filing unfair labor practice charges against their unions. I prepared the affidavits of these charging parties and was in charge of correspondence with union and employer counsel linked to the charges filed and made recommendations to the Regional Director regarding whether the charge should be dismissed. I also helped conduct an official NLRB certification election.

I helped the trial examiners draft decisions on charges filed by unions against employers on the subjects of improper practices, such as retaliation against employees. In addition, I conducted research of the applicable law for requests for arbitration by unions in the context of a grievance about wages and union improper practices during an election. I also attended many improper practice hearings.

I assisted the Administrative Law Judges in reaching their rulings by conducting research on Sections 8(a)(1), 8(a)(3), 8(a)(5), and 8(b)(1) of the National Labor Relations Act. In addition, I attended several unfair labor practice hearings.
