About Jonathan Solomon
Hello! I am an accounting and management student at the NYU Stern School of Business with experience in corporate tax and an interest in the industries of accounting and law. Thank you for checking out my profile and feel free to read more.This summer, I had an enriching experience working as a tax intern at Ernst & Young. I was staffed on two clients at the same time and learned much about time management and communication while balancing my tasks for the both of them. During meetings with my teams, I also learned about many tax concepts such as apportionment, reconciliation, and intercompany transactions. With various assignments preparing workpapers for my clients' next fiscal years, I also refined my skills in Microsoft Excel. At the end of the internship, I accepted a full-time offer to work with Ernst & Young as a tax staff starting in January 2026.I am currently pursuing NYU Stern's BS/MS in Accounting program and am on track to have both a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting by September 2025. Alongside my accounting studies, I'm also pursuing a concentration in management and a minor in music. I'm highly involved on my campus as the President of the Stern Business Academy - an organization that creates professional development resources and hosts corporate-sponsored events for black, latinx, and indigenous students. I am also currently a Resident Assistant at NYU's Founders Hall, a Peer Mentor for NYU Stern's Professional Development & Career Education (PDCE) team, and the Professional Chair of pre-law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta (NYU chapter).Before my time as a tax intern at EY, I spent the previous summer working with them as launch intern which gave me the opportunity to rotate between the company's audit, tax, and tech consulting service lines. The experience helped me to solidify my interest in tax and choose to pursue it. Before my current extracurriculars at NYU, I held various leadership roles related to NYU Residential Life. During my sophomore year, I was the Vice President of Business Administration of the Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC) - a position that had me managing a budget of $250,000 for the purpose of hosting large-scale events for students such as ice skating nights and ballroom dances. During my junior year, I was the Vice President of the RA Council - a position that had me regularly meeting with members of NYU's administration and advocating for the interests of the university's 260 RAs.Outside of work and university, I enjoy weightlifting, running, watching movies, reading books, and composing music.
