A Transport Policy and Strategy Advisor and Thought Leader with 30 years’ professional experience in consultancy, research, bid writing and advocacy. I am currently pursuing a portfolio career based in Dubai across a range of transport-focused roles and partners, with experience spanning UK and Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle East. In an increasingly complex and uncertain World, my focus is on the pressing transport and spatial planning challenges of today and the solutions which may address them tomorrow, whilst also making sense of the underlying enabling factors which will eventually determine successful and sustainable outcomes. Much of my work has included identifying international good practice in transport planning and delivery, benchmarking of performance and making lessons transferable to the local context, including from High-Income to Low- and Middle-Income Countries. In this context, I am increasingly interested in the policy and regulatory implications of disruptive technologies, service models and design concepts such as Electrification, Autonomous Transport, Net Zero and Shared Mobility, and how they impact future market adoption, commercial viability and social value.
