Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) perform ground handling and servicing of aircraft and conduct routine aircraft inspections and aviation administrative duties. AMTs inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft engines, auxiliary power units, propellers, rotor systems, power train systems and associated airframe and systems specific electrical components. AMTs also service, maintain, and repair aircraft fuselage, wings, rotor blades, fixed and movable flight control surfaces. AMTs also maintain aircraft bleed air, hydraulic and fuel systems.• Fuel farm duties, maintain three five thousand gallon fuel trucks, two 15 thousand gallon and one 30 thousand gallon fuel tanks.• Maintain basic air crewman qualification with the coast guards MH60T helicopter including many emergency proceedures.• Corrosion team, inspection of aircrafts for corrosion and repair in accordance with technical manuals.• Daily tasks include tool control inventory, aircraft fuel samples, hazardas material inventory and stock, shop cleanliness, minor and major maintenance on four MH60T helicopters. • Fabrication of nonstructural metal components. • Composite repairs on aircraft components.• Inspection, removal, and replacement of critical aircraft components. • Mixture and application of aircraft grade paint utilizing proper person protective equipment in an enclosed spray booth. • Qualified for operating engines on MH60t helicopter for engine washes, troubleshooting, and leak checks. • Qualified fire guard during engine operations. • Qualified tow driver “Coast Guard qualified “for C130J plane and Mh60t.• Qualified hot gas refueling as fuel truck driver, fuel hose operator, or component operator for fueling while rotor blades are still turning on helicopter for fast turnaround during search and rescue cases.
