Prior to my change in career path, I was an IT Director of a Government approved awarding body and membership organisation. Within this role I had budgetary control for IT and responsibility for my team. I also gained the Prince 2 Practioner project management qualification. However, during this period I recognised my passion and desire to work in a psychological field. To enable this, I studied part-time for two years to gain a MSc distinction grade in Applied Positive Psychology. This qualification and it's demonstration of my commitment and passion, allowed me to successfully apply to become a trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, working in the NHS IAPT service. Following my successfully qualifying in this role and after a qualifying period of two years, I was then able to successfully apply for a position of Trainee High Intensity CBT therapist with NHS South West London and St George's Trust which I hope to complete this month.I am a long standing member of Action for Happiness and have facilitated their 'Exploring What Matters?' course. I am a keen sports person, playing squash, football and enjoying both MTB and road cycling.
