Book publication through WestBow Press: "Pigeon on a Hill: The Power of Faith, Steadfast Support, and a Positive Attitude"I authored the story of my journey battling osteogenic sarcoma (osteosarcoma), a type of bone cancer. According to the American Cancer Society (as of October 2020), about 1,000 new cases of osteosarcoma are diagnosed in the United States each year. Out of those 1,000 cases, about half are in children and teens. I wrote this book to help others who face similar challenges. One-hundred percent of the proceeds have gone to (and will continue to go to) a fund created in my name through the book: Jonathan Albro Stepp Cancer Center Nursing Fund. This fund specifically supports nursing education opportunities on 4 Henson, the hematology/oncology unit at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.
