Jonathan is responsible for day-to-day operations at Starbit, with a focus on the design side. He is an experienced multidisciplinary designer with more than fifteen years worth of client projects to his name, encompassing branding, design for print, and digital. He founded Starbit with the launch of their first website in 2005 and formed the limited company in 2011. Throughout the evolution of Starbit, Jonathan’s pursuit of design innovation in the digital space has remained the lynchpin. In particular, he has steered the trajectory of the company towards a specialisation in dealing with complexity, whether this be online membership and booking systems, or visualisations and interactivity for big data. An ability to see the bigger picture, as well as an unbreakable habit of always questioning the finer details, have been critical in realising some of the company’s biggest achievements. Having undertaken an MA (Hons) dissertation on anthropogenic climate change and a subsequent MSc in Environmental Sustainability, Jonathan continues a keen interest in environmental issues. He is an avid reader of non-fiction on subjects such as food production, economics, and the natural world. Wherever possible, he looks to make a positive impact, including through using (and producing) renewable energy, reducing waste through reuse, cycling almost everywhere, and growing his own vegetables.
