My film career began 31 years ago when I attended the UCLA Film Extension Program. This program led to amazing opportunities and afforded me the ability to cut my teeth on several live-action film sets and in the production offices of multiple film and television programs. I was fortunate to work in episodic post-production for many years as well. This combined experience provided me with a firm foundation and understanding of the production process, literally from script to screen. In 1998 I transitioned full-time to visual effects, spending over 10 years as a visual effects producer for award-winning companies CafeFX and The Syndicate. I produced visual effects on commercials, music videos, and feature films, including Shutter Island and the Oscar-nominated films Master and Commander and The Aviator. To broaden my skill set, I also spent valuable time in executive management serving as Human Resource Manager and Head Recruiter. Having recruited artists for many films, a favorite experience remains staffing the Academy Award-winning film Pan’s Labyrinth, a film co-produced by CafeFx.In 2009 I joined the award-winning visual effects company Pixomondo, producing visual effects for the films Sucker Punch, The Green Hornet, and Hugo, which won the 2011 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. After Hugo, I joined the Digital Domain Media Group as an executive producer for their newly formed visual effects and stereo division. Then in 2012, I joined the faculty of the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts where I became the Head of Visual Effects and Industry Liaison. Over the past 10 years, I’ve remained active in the industry taking on projects for 8i, STX, BLP, and Powerhouse VFX. In 2019 I founded Radiance Media Group where I consult, produce, and represent remote visual effects artists, and Electric Blue/Omega - a VFX, Game Art, & 3D Architectural Rendering and Visualization Studio. In 2020, I was fortunate to serve as interim Head of Studio for the NYC division of Crafty Apes, a dynamic award-winning visual effects studio. I consider myself a student of life and enjoy taking on new adventures. I continue to learn from new experiences, wherever they may be. This outlook was forged during my early years as a commercial fisherman in Morro Bay, California. There is nothing quite like working on the open ocean, where at times mother nature can be harsh, and where teamwork and communication are paramount.
