I am a member of Professor Jia Deng's computer vision research group at the University of Michigan, where I study action understanding in large-scale video data. I hope to build systems that can automatically identify, locate, and describe human actions in videos. Such systems have applications in the control of autonomous vehicles, video surveillance, and video description and retrieval.

Machine Perception team at Google Research

The Michigan Data Science Team is the world's first competitive collegiate data science team, founded at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in the summer of 2015. Our members work together to solve complex prediction challenges, primarily through online venues such as Kaggle.com. In our first semester, we recruited over 50 students and placed in the top 5% of an international data science competition held on Kaggle.As co-founder and organizational chair for the 2015-16 year, I have worked as the sole student leader responsible for getting the Michigan Data Science team off the ground. I lead meetings, manage all communication to the team members, and provide resources that help students get involved in competitive data science.
